The next "Open Door" day was organized at the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan within the framework of the 80th anniversary of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.
Students of groups 4123a1, 2 412a1, 2 studying in the specialty "Ecological Engineering" of the Faculty of "Mechanical Engineering and Metallurgy" of Azerbaijan Technical University, as well as teachers of the "Chemical Technology, Recycling and Ecology" department - associate professors Najiba Shirinova, Shukufa Eyvazova, Gulnaz Mirzayeva, teachers Aynura Yariyeva, Turkan Amirova and Sevda Mehdiyeva, got acquainted with the "Soil Museum" of the Institute.
The executive director of the Institute, PhD in biology, Assoc. Prof. Gulchohra Huseynova, laboratory director, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Mustafa Mustafayev provided detailed information about the history of the museum's establishment and the heads of the İnstitute who have worked in different years. Mustafa Mustafayev also presented interesting scientific information about the soil samples displayed in the museum, methods of their collection, and the principles of digging water wells and wells.
Then, the Director General of the Institute, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Alövsat Guliyev received the guests. During the cordial roundtable meeting, Professor Alovsat Guliyev provided information about the Institute's activities and scientific achievements, and also proposed expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan Technical University. He said that, it would be very beneficial for both sides to have master's and students conduct research internships at the Institute, which has modern research laboratories.
Finally, the "Soil Atlas" prepared by the Institute was donated to the Azerbaijan Technical University.
It should be noted that, the main goal of the "Open Door" days is to familiarize young people with the development directions of soil science and agrochemistry, the stages of the scientific research process, and the prospects of this field.
