A commemorative event was organized at the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the occasion of November 8 - Victory Day. The event began with a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our country and the playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Executive Director of the Institute, Doctor of Philosophy in Biology, Associate Professor Gulchohra Huseynova congratulated the event participants on Victory Day and spoke about the importance of the historic victory won by the Victorious Azerbaijan Army under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev for our people. He noted that, this magnificent Victory was possible thanks to the sacrifice, heroism, and high spirit of patriotism of our soldiers, thereby restoring the territorial integrity of our country.
Gulchohra Huseynova also emphasized that, Victory Day is not only a symbol of victory, but also a day of love for the land, nature, and the future for every citizen. He said that, he personally actively participates in tree planting campaigns held on this occasion every year. In particular, this year he plans to plant more than 100 different types of trees, which will be passed on to future generations as a green symbol of victory.
Speaking at the event, Mammad Mammadov, Chairman of the Institute's Trade Union Committee, Doctor of Agrarian Sciences, evaluated the Patriotic War, which began on September 27 and lasted 44 days, as one of the brightest pages of our history. He said that, Azerbaijan wrote an unparalleled heroic epic in history by liberating its lands that had been under occupation for 30 years.
The Chief of the Civil Defense Headquarters of the Institute, a participant in the Patriotic War, Lieutenant Colonel Ruslan Mahammadov, shared his war memories in his speech. Speaking about the difficult but also proud moments they faced during the war, he emphasized that the struggle of every soldier for the Motherland carries high moral value.
Speaking at the event, Tarlan Yelmarli, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists, noted that the memory of our martyrs will live forever in the memory of our people, and their heroism will be an example for future generations. He emphasized that, this Victory, achieved under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, is a celebration of the unity, determination, and will to fight of the Azerbaijani people.
Also speaking at the event were Doctor of Agrarian Sciences, Professor Vilayat Hasanov, Doctor of Philosophy in Agrarian Sciences Amina Akhundova, Doctor of Philosophy in Agrarian Sciences Pirverdi Huseynov, Doctor of Philosophy in Agrarian Sciences Farhad Sadigov, Doctor of Philosophy in Agrarian Sciences Mirvari Mammadova and other colleagues, who stated that Victory Day is a symbol of national pride and that this victory holds an eternal place in the history of Azerbaijani statehood.
The event was also addressed by Khnyaz Afgarov, a participant in the First Karabakh War, Doctor of Philosophy in Agrarian Sciences, and Rena Heydarova, the sister of a participant in the Patriotic War, Doctor of Philosophy in Agrarian Sciences. In their speeches, they recalled the difficult but proud years of struggle experienced by our people and spoke about the bravery, courage, and love of homeland shown by Azerbaijani soldiers at that time. It was noted that, the victory achieved in the 44-day Patriotic War also means that, the souls of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the first Karabakh war have found peace. Their struggle lies at the foundation of today's Victory.
