An event dedicated to the 65 years scientific activity of Vilayat Hasanov, a well-known soil scientist, Doctor of Agrarian Sciences, Professor, Head of the Soil Cover Structure Laboratory of the Institute, was held at the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Opening the event with an introductory speech, the director general of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS, professor Alovsat Guliyev spoke extensively about the scientific work of the outstanding scientist and his services in the field of soil science. He said that, Professor Vilayat Hasanov's name is mentioned today among the scientists who have contributed to the development of soil science in the country and internationally. His fundamental and applied research, especially his scientific results in the field of soil cover structure and soil mapping, played an important role in the scientific development of agriculture.

Alovsat Guliyev also highly appreciated Professor Hasanov's selfless work in educating the younger generation: "Professor Vilayat has formed his own scientific school, has been the scientific supervisor of dozens of doctoral candidates, and has instilled deep knowledge and a scientific worldview in thousands of students. "He is a committed, principled, honest, and exemplary scientist."

He emphasized that, Professor Vilayat Hasanov is not only a scientist, but also an intellectual with high human qualities and a support for his colleagues.

Speaking at the event, Doctor of Philosophy in Agrarian Sciences Amina Akhundova, Doctor of  Philosophy in Agrarian Sciences Mirvari Mammadova, and Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists Tarlan Yermarlı also spoke about the role of Professor Vilayat Hasanov in the scientific life of the Institute and the care he showed to each employee and young researcher.

They noted that, the scientist is an exemplary personality not only in the field of science, but also in terms of moral values, and wished him good health, inexhaustible scientific creative energy, and a long life.
